Happy new year to everyone! I've just been looking through the MSR tachi uchi no kurai section through books and websites and it seems a heck of a lot like kenjutsu to me. If that's the case, then Muso Shiden Ryu and its other half, Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu, are actually quite complete sword systems, since Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu studied together form a viable fighting system. So, I just like to know what the opinion like on MSR/MJER as complete Iai/Kenjutsu fighting system is from everyone reading this post.

As I have stated previously in other posts (see the thread MJER Curriculum) MJER originally included 43 solo sword forms (iai) 46 paired sword forms (iai/kenjutsu) and over 60 hand to hand forms (yawaya and kogusoku) in addition to bo, jo, and torinawa (arresting cord) techniques, so it was, originally, a "sogo Bujutsu" or comprehensive martial system. Today, all that seems to be left is the iai and paired sword forms.
