Counting in Japanese

Perhaps someone could help me, I'm trying to find out how, if there is a way, to say "...and a half" as in one and a half kyu, if there is such a thing. The closest I could come to was decimal numbers.

If anyone knows I would appreciate it.

Decimals is one way to go.

1.5級 - itten-go-kyuu.

Generally, "half" is indicated by adding han 半 to the counter-word.

一級半 - ikkyuu-han

Now, both of these would be considered jokes/word-plays, as there is no "half-kyu" in any kyu ranking system that I'm aware of. However, in many tests (e.g., the STEP English test, the Kanji Kentei, etc) there are levels between two full kyu ranks. For example,

一級 - ikkyuu Level 1
準一級 - jun-ikkyuu Pre-Level 1
二級 - nikyuu Level 2
準二級 jun-nikyuu Pre-Level 2
三級 - sankyuu Level 3
四級 - yonkyuu Level 4

One more question,

Would 7th kyu be "shichikyu" or "nanakyu"?
