Was it too much for her?

Better still why bearded men and guns do not mix:

I think a better title would be "Why people who know little about guns shouldn't let other people with less knowledge shoot their guns." Handing a high caliber weapon to a novice is sheer stupidity. But I guess if you walk around with a t-shirt like that on you can't be all that bright anyhow.

You know he knows little about guns when he chamber loads the round and then drops the slide-a great way to break or bend the extractor.

Exactly my sentiments as well.

I caught that as well. Amateurs, dangerous ones at that.

Even I could tell that handing her the weapon in that way was bad. It was not the best idea and one of the more stupid videos I have seen.

Hi all
I hate to hear titles like that and and about stupid video's like that. I am a firearms instructor and teach a lot of woman young and old about handling firearms and shooting them safely. As a group, woman are usually good students. They want to learn to handle a firearm safely and don't get caught up in Ego problems. Empowering is an overused word but they usually feel better about the whole firearms experience afterwould. I think woman taking the proper firearms training is a good thing.
Take your girl freind or wife shooting :)

This video kinda reminds of novice motorcycle riders....you get some kid who just got his Motorcycle endorsement on his/her license only to go out and buy a Hyabusa with little to no experience. Just like this tool who what I "assume" is a Desert Eagle .50 handgun and loads it dangerously and then passes it to someone who obviously has little to no experience with handguns. If someone can't load and unload a handgun properly for themselves then they have no business handling the firearm.

I do, as often as possible (which is very rarely sadly).

That's only a .22 WMR in the picture, but she's shot everything from my air rifle and pistol in .177, .44 mag for handguns up to .30-06 (and downloaded .300 remington ultra mag) and 12 gauge for long arms.

She cried the first time she saw a table full of firearms ("weapons") and I really had to persuade her to shoot. She loved it.

I was at a Dallas Gun Show recently and one of the "range" owners there brought up a very good point. Just as there are martial arts for "sport" vs. "Self-defense" so are there shooting ranges that cater to both.

If someone is buying a gun for self-defense, they need training at a place where adrenaline is a given, as this will be the conditions under which they will be using their gun-- if again, for self-defense.

His point, make sure people get the proper training from the proper facility based on what they purchased the gun for. Very good advice!

I agree the title is bad.

Statistically, there are likely to be more Men who are irresponsible/useless with guns than women. Most women I know who go down the road of MA/Guns etc tend to research it and study hard.

They don't tend to drink beers and shoot off the back of their porch.

"Misogyny and Guns" don't mix perhaps?

whatever my point, there is more than a hint of misogyny here.

I maintain that there are three types of men: misogynists, men who have never had a date, and idiots :D. However, personal misogyny aside, I've known several ladies who are excellent shots and at least on par with any man when it comes to gun safety. I remember once when my uncle took my aunt (his sister) out to a shooting range and provided her with a silhoutte target. She emptied the entire clip into a pattern only a couple of inches across. Right over the silhoutte's crotch.

A few years ago I heard that some creep had been stalking my aunt.

Friend: A stalker? That's scary! Why aren't you worried about her?
Me: Are you kidding? Trust me, I'd be more worried about him... I think she can take care of herself.
