hello everyone,

a few weeks ago on ebay i saw an interesting postcard (that sadly i forgot to bid on) of Ainu life. what i found most interesting about the card was that there were two Ainu men with Ainu styled swords (the shoto in carved saya) in what looks like kendo stances, and one man who looks to be doing iaido!!! i had always heard that the Ainu only used their swords for cerimonial reasons (such as dancing and bear sacrifices). does anyone know anything about the Ainu's sword use? did they practice any sort of budo that might have lived into the 19th or even 20th centuries? if anyone can show me how, i can post a copy of the postcard so everyone can get an idea of what i'm talking about.

peace,
