Hello everyone!
I want to ask your advise for choosing a good book for me to bye...

I am allready quite experienced Judoka.
1) I am looking now for a book that
can improve my technichue by adding new and sometimes unordinnary
technichues(I study a european type Judo) .
2) Also I am looking for a book that includes as much as possible conventional
methodes .
Also I want the books to be as much as possible illustrated ,easy to understand
and include alot of material.

So if you have any advises for me , I will be glad to know them(also I would like to
know what experience in Judo do you have)...

Thank you...

Hi, Astro I,
Have you checked at Big Sky Judo yet at the University of Montana? They list over 120 books with reviews and descriptions to go with them.

Also, click here (http://www.mxbf.com) for a pretty good book finder. New, used, and otherwise hard to find.

I would think there would be some material in Israel. You say you do "European style judo?" Could you explain what you mean? Is it something like kosen judo?

I know of the judo organizations in Europe, but no one has ever put it that way. Then again, I'm not too swift.;)

BTW: There are only a few rules for posting here in E-budo and let me say welcome. One rule is that all of us sign our posts with our real, full names. People like to know to whom they are "speaking."

Hi again.
First of all I wanted to thank you for your advise ,since It really helped me..

Now my explanation for what I called european type Judo : Actually what I ment
to say is that (anyway for my opinion) nowadays Judo is alittle varying from
country to country .For example ,in former USSR the judo is alittle combinated with
SAMBO or/and free wrestling . I actually have seen that even every different sensei
has his different approach - anyway this is only my opinion and I dont know too much
yet to say if I am wright or not...

But of course you are absolutely wright in saying that there no such determination
as "european style " etc....

You know, I have another question else : Are there any good DOJO's in USA to study
JUDO for someone in adult age(I am 21 now) ,considering the fact that I dont have a
good enough level(anyway untill now, unfortunately) to be able to win state
championships ?

Thank you ...

Hi, Yuri,

As I'm familiar with the Southern California area's organizations and dojo, try this link. http://www.nanka.org/

As they have a busy schedule and some new management, I think this may be what you want. The New Mexico judo community is small (at this point in my life, I like it) and probably not what you need right now. There are still some of the greatest judoka still involved although they are aging quickly, eg, Kenneth Kuniyuki.

You may also want to try one of three national bodies of Judo in the US: http://www.usjf.com , http://www.csprings.com/usja or the national umbrella organization and national governing body in the US http://www.usjudo.org .
