What is the most impressive thing you have seen in your martial arts experience?

It can be any aspect, not limited to technique.

The way someone has developed? How an Instructor treated you?
The restraint someone demonstrated under extreme provocation?

What ever???

Arai Sensei, at the UK WSKO seminar earlier in the year. So graceful it made me wonder if we were doing the same martial art.

Its poetry in motion, neh?

When ever you get a chance step forward and have him (any instructor) demonstrate waza on you it is a mind blowing wonderful experience.

Totally relate to your experience.
How long have you been training Tracy, what grade???

Bando Sensei's and his son's demonstration in Hombu 1989

Aosaka Sensei's randori many times.

Takemori Sensei's juho blocks, England 1986

Arai Sensei's juho. And goho. Many times

Most impressive unseen thing: Hangetsu kubinage done on me in Hombu Doin 1989. Some small Sensei. I saw nothing, I felt nothing, when I woke up on the floor they told me the technique was nice.
Some headache afterwards.

Yes Yes and more yes.

Say no more.

Really any experience with a top Japanese instructor is impressive which I feel is way under stated.

I don't think that in the west when we have an expert in any field or discipline that we come anywhere near a Japanese expert.
Look at their woodwork in a house or the quality of a good katana etc etc.

Yamazaki Sensei and anything he does :D

Senada Sensei who threw me and a chap called Chet who was 'piggy backing' on me. I grabbed Senada Sensei for maki gote - completely static position, we were both then thrown for a couple of metres! he did it twice then tried to explain hi theory of Newtonian Physics as applied to juho..... neither of us had a clue :)

A small group of dedicated kenshi who walked rather than play the big game...

The concept of Shorinji Kempo and the way it was made reality by Kaiso.

As for techniques etc, nothing much.

Yes have to agree about Kaiso.

In my eyes the mans understanding of human nature and how people can develop is nothing short of genius.

Then he had the organization ability and energy to make it all happen.

I think the structure where each Branch Master can report directly to Hombu is genius it cuts out all the BS the Shorinji is encountering since the big push to establish Federations in the mid eighties, and slits that have happened to all other style.
