Hi all,

Just been reading about the new Marine Corps hand-to-hand stuff (L.I.N.E?) and I had a question about basic training.

I've read about the Air Force requirements, what are the Marine requirements?
Pull-ups? Push-ups? 3 miles a day fullpack? 10 miles without a pack?

Just wondering where I can get more info.

Thx--Jody

LINE is a former USMC H2H program.

The current USMC PT regulation is MCO 6100.3J, and is available online. For a link, try http://www.usmilitary.about.com/careers/usmilitary/library/milinfo/marinereg/blmco6100-3j.htm . The next generation regulation is MCO 6100.3K; for a draft version, see http://www.tecom.usmc.mil/stds/documents/Draft/MCO6110_3K.pdf

Swimming is done with pack, uniform, etc.

The ideal is to do 20 pullups, 80 sit-ups in 2 minutes, and 3 miles in 19:30 or less, but one can get by with much less.

Damn..I'm a bit late here. Actually, since we changed to "crunches" vice sit-ups, 100 in two minutes will get you the max 100 points for that event. The run requires 18:00 run time for max points (males).

Also, LINE training no longer exists; it has been replaced with a new hand-to-hand system (I do not know the nomenclature).

Sooo,

I should be able to do 100 crunches in 2 minutes, run 3 miles in 18:00, do 20 pull-ups and what else?

60 pushups? Will I have any trouble with the new martial arts training?

Thanks--Jody

There is no push-up requirement for the U. S. Marine Corps.
Actually, the minimum requirements for entrance are 3 pull-ups, 40 crunches in two minutes, and a 3-mile run time of (I think) 27 minutes. However, there is also a minimum point total, so if you ONLY have the minimum in all three areas, you will not pass the PFT.
