Hello,

The Nippon Budōkan just published a new book by H. Kinjō, "From Chinese Hand to Empty Hand" (唐手から空手へ). Did someone here read it already? If so, what do you think about it’s content? Does it contain something new compared to his previous works?

Regards,

Henning Wittwer

Hi Henning san,

Nice to hear from you. I hope Father Christmas was good to you and that the "Year of the Dragon," has greeted you with open arm ... or is that, "claws?" :)

Kinjo Sensei sent me a pre-published copy and I couldn't have been happier ... like all of his books, the publication is meticulous and brings deeper and more insightful meaning to the history, evolution and application of our art.

Hello,

Thank you for your reply! Happy year of the dragon for you, too! In my case, it greeted me with rather frosty arms. However, I think down under the weather is certainly better...

Based on your judgement that his book brings deeper meaning to karate's history etc. I will certainly buy a copy.

Best regards,

Henning Wittwer
