Iaito Care?

Hello!

I was hoping people here could give me some tips on how I should care for my Iaito. There are many places on the web that will tell you how to care for a shinken, but the info about iaito care has been minimal. I found some info at swordstore.com, but basically all it said was to oil the blade. If anybody here have some aditional advice, I would love to hear it!

Mr. Olav:

I buy my iaito from Meirin, they recommend merely wiping the blade and treating it with Choji oil after each use. They claim to be "the father of the commercial iaito" and so I guess you're doing fine by their standards. Their instructions have worked fine for my numerous iaito over the years.
