I wonder about the level of professionalism among budo teachers in the US. There are a lot of dojo that seem to offer a million programs, but little in the way of good fundamentals. So I wrote this blog post about it.

When you teach, do you reach the level of professionalism, or are you somewhere else?

I have trained with real budo professionals in the past such as the Tokyo police - so can confidently say I can never reach the level of professionalism that I have seen there.... all I can do is focus on fundamentals when instructing and continually pursue senior instruction for myself when I can get it.
