Retired Law Enforcement Detective Robert K. Koga died at the age of 83 in Fallbrook, California, due to cancer.
Mr. Koga served in the US Air Force, then joined a major law enforcement agency in the City of Los Angeles, where he developed a revolutionary Aikido-based arrest and control system. During his lifetime his system was taught across the US, Canada, Mexico, Japan, and China. His teachings are being preserved by the "Koga Institute (http://www.kogainst.com)".

A public celebration of his life will take place on November 2nd, 2013.
Although I never knew him personally, his name is one that I've heard many times, and his teachings created an important foundation for Western law enforcement arrest and control methods.
