Hi. I'm looking to learn a martial art. Particularly a sword art. There are a few options in my area, but I'm not sure which would be right for me, so I've joined your forum looking for insight and advice.

I suggest aasking about the dojo and instructors that you are curious about in the sword arts section. The Japanese sword arts world, although growing, is still pretty small so you can probably get some good insight into the arts and instructors in your area.

In addition to Paul's advice, can you narrow down a bit more where you live? California is so vast that you could end up being sent someplace that's a three-hour drive away.

Good idea. I live on the Monterey Peninsula. There are a 2 Iaido dojos, a Kendo dojo, and a battojutsu dojo all close by.
