I have posted an excellent new essay by Dave Lowry within my Kogenbudo blog, discussing the essence of tea ceremony and its simulacrum--training within a traditional martial way. Tea ceremony has always been somewhat of a puzzle to me, particularly its relationship, in traditional bushi eyes, to martial traditions developed in the Edo period. This essay answers my questions.
