What is your experience with Hidari Wakigamae? Is there any realistic emphasis on it in your style? I haven't had any experience in Japanese sword arts, but any time I see Wakigamae, it's on the right hip side, and almost never on the left hip.

I am not a sword expert but I think in general most JSA training forces a right hand approach out of the left handed. Hopeful some of the true experts will weigh in.

Nathan, you only have to try waki-gamae on the left side to realize how awkward it is with a conventional right-handed grip.
