There must be a bunch out there. Did you try searching the web? Maybe try http://www.ask.com.

Try Chiropractic, even though back pain is a very small part of chiropractic, those who seek a chiropractor for their back problems get incredable results. I have ben a team chiropractor for local martial artists, most have come in initally for their pain and soon realize the awsome benefits they get from a nerve system that functions at 100%.

Hi EricDZR,

I have found a good website with a forum for knee problems. Try the following link:

http://www.kneeguru.co.uk/

You can post specific questions and talk to experts and fellow sufferers.

I don't know much about back problems but my father had some chiropractic treatment for his back and thought it was quite good (his problem was caused by a golf swing, not martial arts.) I have also heard of people getting good results with alternative methods like Alexander Technique and acupuncture.

Good luck

Gavin

hey thanks alot everyone.

i've taken the Chiropractic route in the past and it worked great, but i'm trying to avoid relying on an external source for wellness. recently i purchased a book on back and ab strenght. i'm going through that program now and i'll let you know if it's worth it. the knee info has helped quite a bit but it seems that a brace and awarenees are the best remedy for now. aloha-e

Check out http://www.quackwatch.com before trying chiropractors. As for the knee, a good brace and lots of anti-inflammatory medication helps. Sometimes a good shot of cortisone can take the pain out of tendons and surrounding tissues, too. Be careful, though, it's easy to think you've been healed because it feels so much better, and that may lead you to reinjure yourself before it has time to really repair itself. I had cortisone shots directly in my spine. After three of the most painful treatments ever invented by doctors, I was actually a lot better. Sometimes the cure seemed much worse than the ruptured disks, but it was just for a few minutes each time.
