G'day All,
I'm researching the number of kiri-waza as used by various the koryu iai-jutsu/kenjutsu ryu-ha. I'd like to know how many different distinct and variant cutting techniques that you guys utilise.
Please list/table the techniques by 1) Japanese name, 2) English translation/transliteration, 3) Cutting angle/trajectory and 4) Prescribed target, variant target ot TO (taget of opportunity)!
I'm aware of the matrix invented by Nakamura-Sensei of Toyama-ryu ie: (Eiji) Happo-giri tosen, based on eight basic sword trajectories that provide a myriad basis for all other cuts eg: Kesa-giri is the foundation IMHO for such cuts as yokomen-uchi/naname-giri & naname ashi-giri/koshi-giri etc.
Thanks for your help, guys.
Cheers,
Paul Steadman
