Has anyone had any dealings with Daimyo Outfitters at http://home.att.net/~daimyo.outfitters/ ?

If so, how good is the quality of his wares?

I ordered a keikogi, hakama and obi from him just under a year ago.

Since it was made using my measurements, it fit like a glove. I asked him specifically for lightweight material and that's exactly what I got. It still looks good as of this date.

Keep in mind that I practice Japanese Swordsmanship, so not much grappling is done to add to wear and tear. He does make a "hard bastard" version of his custom uniforms that he claims are very durable. I'd believe him.

My only compliant was the obi. The material inside curled up after a single wash and was difficult to straighten out for ironing. I solved this problem by just taking it to the dry cleaners for four dollars.

I highly recommend him. He was always courteous and returned my emails within 48 hours.

Good luck,

RC

Mr. Reber is still in business, I placed an order with him two weeks ago. Here is the link to his updated price list:

http://home.att.net/~daimyo.outfitters/catalogue.html

I've had better luck opening this url on my wife's Mac than with my PC, though.

Try removing the last "l" from the web address.

example:

http://home.att.net/~daimyo.outfitters/catalogue.htm

That just gives me a whackin' big NOT FOUND. I'm guessing this vendor isn't depending on the Net for sales...

Hmm, that link worked for me a few weeks ago on a Mac. I've been communicating with Mr. Reber via e-mails sent to:

daimyo.outfitters@att.net

You might want to get more details from the man himself.

Maybe the Mac version is up and the PC version is down. I went closer to the root directory by trying http://home.att.net/~daimyo.outfitters/ instead of the catalogue page, and I got an "Under Construction" page.

It doesn't look like they are open... at least not on the Net.
