Many of you study arts that have very diverse repertoire.
What are the different specializations of your respective arts?
Which specialization do you enjoy most, or find the most challenging?
And, what aspect of your art do you think you are best suited for, which do you feel you need the most work on?

In Shidare Yanagi Ryu we study;
Jujutsu
Iaijutsu
Kenjutsu
Jojutsu
Naginatajutsu
Tantojutsu
Tessenjutsu
Juttejutsu
Hojojutsu

Most of these have various subdivisions, such as Kata (long and short), defences against various weapons and attacks, disarms, retentions, controls, counters, etc. Of course, the Aiki aspect is a science unto itself and permeates the entire art, especially the empty-hand and sword arts. There are also other "toys" that are played with, such as spear, flexible weapons, shuriken, police baton, cane...but these are not in the original curriculum and have not been "formalized".

I personally enjoy the sword the most (I think that may be a guy thing) though all of my long Kata in general need some (alot) of work, I am at my feeble best at application of technique. I seem to suck slightly less with pole arms (jo and naginata) and empty-hand techniques.

"perfection is a road, not a destination"...or somthing like that.

So...how'bout you?
