Researchers have unearthed a rare stone relic from a Japanese archeological site in western Japan, depicting a human face with an expression resembling the subject of the painting "The Scream" by Norwegian artist Edvard Munch, officials said.

The relic, believed to have been made between the third century and early fourth century A.D. (about 1,700 years ago), or Japan's late Yayoi Period, was found last month at the Harunotsuji ruin in Nagasaki, some 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) southwest of Tokyo, officials said on Tuesday
