OK OK OK - Following the opic of books and a recent thread debating the differences between (if any) waki gatame and hiji shime; I would like to add my contribution to it all.

Judo - Waki Gatame ; captures the arm under the arm pit. The body weight acts as a pressure item. The arm pit is the capture point. The hips are turned away from the opponent (on in the same direction the opponent is facing).

Aikido - Hiji shime ; captures arm in similar way, legs are bent and hips are turned in toward the opponent to bring the arm bar on.

So the key difference being the hip placement and direction.
