fifthchamber has included this shot.
Check this one out! Any help with the flag Kanji would be good as I havent yet had the time to look closely at it..
Also, on the far left, check out the Samurai with the Tetsubo twice his size!
Who says that by the Edo period weapons were more for show than for practical uses!
Enjoy.
Abayo.

Hello all,
Can anyone help me with getting the picture up here?
It's a BMP file and I am following the format given in the 'help' section...It's just not working for me. Good pictures too!
Anyone?

Hi all,
Checking through my books on Kanji led me to the finding that the first two Kanji up on the flag are; Tei (meaning 'Emperor' or 'Mikado') and Koku ( meaning 'country' or Kuni meaning the same) The combination is to be read as;
'Teikoku' which means the 'empire' (emperors country). Unfortunately the third and forth Kanji used are impossible to decipher from that picture.
Oh well..
Anyone with knowledge on the Meiji revolution and the generations around then care to hazard a guess on the groups using that slogan? There may have been a few..and the dates would be just prior to the revolution itself I would think.
Anyone?
