Anybody try out the iaito (both the cheaper one and the more expensive one) at eguchi.net? I have heard good things about it, but how does it compare to the cheapest iaito at nosyuiaido.com?

I'm thinking of buying an iaito at either one of those places, since they both have good reputations. However, I am open to ideas for any other places. I'm a beginning Iaidoka with a tight budget:( but I've been training with a really heavy bokuto (when compared to most) for a while, so I think I can handle something that handles more like a shinken.

Thanks

Hi Alex,
This is the first I have heard of eguchi. This isn't surprising since I am not in kendo circles and they seem to be primarily a kendo supplies store. For other places that sell quality iaito, you could check out Tozando (from the other thread :) ) or any of the following ...
Carl McClafferty says he wouldn't use any other kind but Meiren. http://www.nipponto.co.jp/english/core_e.htm
Kim Taylor also sells good quality iaito through the Sei Do Kai storefront http://sdksupplies.netfirms.com/
I have also heard good things about iaito from Mugendo Budogu, although I have never actually held one myself. http://budogu.com/
I am partial to Nosyuiaido as they wrap their tsuka tighter than I would think possible.

Happy hunting!
