Sochin Kata

Im very fascinated and interested in the Sochin-Kata.

Can anybody give me some detailed informations about its origin, its development, and the idea behind it?

Is there anybody who knows/practices some variations of it?
Is it only practiced in Shotokan-ryu?

we have Sochin in our Shorin-ji Ryu, (Butoku Kai).

It's my favorite, could you guess?

Don't know about its history tho.
