Are the two guys on the first poster related in any way?
It's just they both have that idiotic look about them.:D

Hey Charlie,
At least the fellow on the left seemingly tied his hakama correctly. I note, however, that he is wearing a juban with his kendo uwagi. I personally have never seen this done, at least not at the small competitions I have witnessed (like the internationals held for four days in Kyoto in May.) I might have missed that. Seriously, is this done? As an aside they do have good haircuts!

Brian, in the international pervert competitions, it's anything goes. As long as you can get out of them quickly... Oh, wait, which picture?? Hahaha!
:p
I could swear the guy on the left is associated with "Sports Chanbara" -- I've seen his photo before. If it is he, he's studied in Yokohama under Tetsundo Tanabe (who is a former student of Nakamura sensei).
I'll have to find this feller's other photo -- I'm sure I saw him in an "edosashi" keikogi. And it is quite common to wear a junban under iai keikogi (the one he's wearing is not a kendo keikogi). I have one that is denim, made as a modern nobakama set. The nobakama has a pocket attached to the right hip opening, and a snap fly -- Verrrrrrry convenient.
Cheers,
Guy
AHA!!! Master Dana Abbott.

.............................................................
Guy,
You are right
I had a sport chanbara seminar with him in Pensacola last year. They represent Samurai Sports Inc,The US distributor of the sport chanbara equipment.More pics and such on their web site.
The seminar was great fun and the guy on the left (Sensei Dana Abbott is a 5th or 6 th degree in quite a lot of MA was a very knowledgeable instructor as was his partner (sorry name escapes me).I have their card at home, I will post it when I can find it.
They travel all over giving these seminars and promoting the products.
Abbbott Sensei and I had some really quality time as his partner was working with the kids on chanbara things, he worked out some bad habits I had with noto and my posture. He remarked that he was ranked in Toyoma and also in another style of Iai and his techniques were very nice.
Super guys and knowledgable also. I would train with him anytime he is in the area.

These guys look like they have a good product, but are seriously lacking in the way that they advertise. They need to consider a new art director.

Depends on the market they are trying to reach. This would be very popular with some sectors.
