Japanese books?

What are some good books for a new japanese language student to have to help along with the learning process? Thanks in advance...

Hello Shawn,

Over the past several months, many of the members have posted their favorite reference materials for studying Japanese. If you go to the drop down box that says "Show threads from" at the top right of the main screen in the Language forum and choose far enough back, say 75 days or so, you can see all of the posts for that period. In that group of posts, you will find numerous threads with information about good references. Hope this helps.
