I would like to say thanks to everyone who replied to my post about the speed of technique. It was a lot of insight for me, it really was.
So, what i gathered from what ive been told is that speed is secondary to timing, technique and distance? Tell me if im wrong!
Anyway, I read this interesting article relating to Musashi, has any of you read this article? Take your time and read it if you havent already done so. Its quite eyeopening.

I was under the impression that TSKR ryo- to involved use of Dai- to and Sho- to, whereas Niten Ichi Ryu used two Dai- to for it's two- sword part of the curriculum. Am I wrong here?

Niten Ichi Ryu uses daito and shoto for their two sword work. Every school of Japanese sword uses either the daisho or daito and tanto for two sword work except for perhaps one of the traditions in the Bujinkan. I remember hearing that they had a few techniques for grabbing an extra sword on the battlefield and using it. That's just heresay though as I don't practice in the Bujinkan.

I think the Tendo ryu has some work with two shoto.

The Tendo-ryu techniques with two swords are performed with weapons that do not really conform to the "normal" measurements. They are of slightly different lengths and both weapons are shorter than a daito and longer than a shoto. Likewise, the thickness of the blades is not too different from what Tendo-ryu regards as a tanto (also different from the "normal" size -- that's a kaiken). There are two sets of techniques, totalling about fifteen or so waza.
Hope this helps.

Very Cool! Thanks very much for the information Mr. Skoss! Something else to put in the reference folder.
Cheers,
There is a picture of Tendo-ryu Nito in Ellis Amdur's book Old School in the essay "Women Warriors of Japan" (which was reprinted on Koryu.com here (http://www.koryu.com/library/wwj1.html)).
