...But you might contact them anyway to see if there are any individual practitioners closer. Try:

http://www.iaido.ca

This is the website of the Canadian Iaido Association, of which the Yanagi Dojo/Bob Davis Sensei in Belleville is a member.

There's iaido at the Concordia kendo club and also in Saint-Constant. See http://www.kendo-canada.com/ckf_dojoadr.htm for details.

As far as MJER, I think there is a Jikishinkai affiliated group in the area. I can try and get more information, I can't find anything at the moment and their web pages aren't all that useful (no list of affiliated dojo that I can see).

Muso Shinden IS a Koryu Iai system, and shares a common history with MJER...so why the distinction?

Neil's link to the CKF will show 3 clubs in Montreal practicing MSR. If it really has to be MJER for what ever reason, then Ottawa's Tateyama club is another option, if you cannot find further information on the Jikishinkai club.

That is my understanding also. MJER and MSR are close enough that they are listed under one heading in the Bugei Ryuha Daijiten. For a thread on the differences between them, follow this link ... http://www.e-budo.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22420

I don't know how much information is there, as I never read that thread. I remembered seeing the heading though.

Good luck in your search.

Hi Mr.Leroi

Sorry fo not noticing the posting sooner. I had not been on Ebuod for a while and even had to get my Password emailed back since I had forgotten it.

To answer your question we do indeed practice Eishin-ryu and our Dojo is located in Montreal at the Tristar Gym.

We have a good club composed of dedicated students and would be happy to have you visit one of our classes on Saturday morning (Starting 9:30) and provide you with a good introduction of what we do.

Truly yours
