Newspaper Article (http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/04082/289473.stm) ]Newspaper article[/URL]

In a nutshell, the Tennessee county that was the site for the Scopes Monkey Trial not only tried to ban gay marriage, but went further in both trying to declare homosexuality a "crime against nature" as well as banning gay people from even living there.

I am presuming that the county commissioners in the article are fundamentalist christians. It is this type of discriminatory behavior that makes non-christians crazy and suspicious of christianity in general.

It amazes me that a state with so many letters in it's name can come up with legislation like that,

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure that the "crime against nature" clause is only called into effect when the homosexual acts in question are performed against the monkey's will.

You do realize that if the toothbrush would have been invented anywhere outside of Tennessee, it would have been called a teethbrush?
