After years of watching the difficulty moderators have had in keeping everything and everyone in some semblance of uniformity and respect toward one another, I have to say that while I appreciate the good work and ideas of John Lindsey, I think George has distinguished himself in steadfastedly looking out for us. Time after time, even when we sometimes kick at his heels.
George, thank you very much for you work on our behalf. I find your selfless dedication to all of us, whom you do not know, quite humbling.

Happy holidays one and all
Dan Harden

Geez, George - Dan's wife and I wish he'd talk even half that nice to us. :D

Seriously, George has done a super job holding the list together while John is doing his work in Iraq.

But Dan, did he make a quick to the famous Stainless Steel thread? Nooooooo. :p ;)

Upon logging in this evening I deduced that Mr. Kohler had made some "moderations" to a thread that I had watched decline into idiocy this morning.
The guilty party was someone that I had at one time
thought of as a unique and worthwhile voice in this online community. Of late however, his constant and trivial bickering over tired issues in threads of an unrelated nature had gone far past merely tiresome. It had been my intention to PM Mr. Kohler this evening and state my concerns, as Mr. Harden had encouraged (indirectly) in a salient post in the thread described above.
I for one, will welcome the peace and quiet.
I echo your sentiments of appreciation for George's efforts on our behalf.
A peaceful season to you all.

Actually, George has done wonders for this year on e-budo. When it went down and members found that e-budo had been taken offline, he managed to get it back. He even allowed me to keep this login name, even though I have another 2 I could use.

And on all of that, his wife and child that was born this year within his home life. All this makes George someone we should give more thanks to.

Thank you for your comments.

Stainless Steel thread? Did I miss something?

That thread was possibly the finest to grace the electronic pages of E-Budo. Unfortunately, while it is in the archives, only the first page comes up (at least for me). The really great comments and essays (by the likes of Dan, Earl Hartman, Guy Power and other really knowledgeable folks) are in those apparently inaccessible pages. :(

For the sake of nostalgia, here is an "antique" link I saved back when the thread was getting started, pre-E-Budo crash. It only goes on for one page.

I only brought it up after the umpteenth time I was asked to go find it Also with everyone else who has reffered people to it. I am too lazy to rehash all that information again evertime someone brings up stainless steel. Thats why I kept asking it be placed in the sword archives
I followed all the proper protocals just like the other threads I aksed to have placed there.
Thanks if you can do anything with it George. And thanks again for you know what.

Dan

I didn't have any problems with the other pages.

Thanks if you can do anything with it George.

I bumped it and then moved it to the Sword Forum Archive.

Thanks, George.
When I went to check your "bump," I discovered could read all the pages. Yay! Maybe my old link somehow wasn't in synch with the New and Improved E-Budo.

George is a mind reader of e-budo.

Telling people off exactly when needed, closing threads when they've gone too far and generally maintaining one of the best messageboards on the net, period.

I dare say John is very pleased with the way the site is being run.

I am totally with you on this one Dan! I think George has been doing an outstanding job. One of these days I'm going to actually stop in Melissa rather than just zoom right through and thank you in person George.

Cheers,

Chrono

I concur, Matt. This is the first forum I visit everyday. And I visit it several times a day.

Keep up the work, George. We know it can be hard and we really do appreciate you doing it.

John knew George was the right guy for the job! By the way, please wish John a "Happy New Year"! Anyway, I can help, would be my pleasure.

Indeed indeed.

In the short time I've been here, George seems to have done a superb job.

Cheers!

Hi all..
I agree..Both John and George have worked incredibly hard to make sure that E-Budo.com is easily the best discussion site on Japanese Martial Arts online at the present time...There is nothing else like it.
Thank you George for bothering to do the work you do.
It is appreciated.
Regards.

I have to commend George as well. Not only does he do a great job moderating this forum, but he contributes to about 6,000 other martial arts forums also ;)
