Well, is it? Are the most recent arguments concerning the old and the new in MA just useless banter of an old argument which won't go away? Is there any good to come form such repetitive, but semantically different, arguments on an old theme? Any comments?

I find these discussions useful. Having the opportunity to address many of these issues can provide us with the ability to evaluate our own goals and motivations. Not everyone will agree with our conclusions or observations, but the majority of the conversations still maintain an atomosphere of mutual respect and civility. In that way, it is not unlike our training in the dojo. We may have partners who challenge us, but if the challenge is conducted with a good spirit, then both participants will grow as a result. We then benefit from realising where our foundation may be strengthened or made more flexible, thanks to the balance of resistance and cooperation that our parters provide. I believe that such is the case here, and I feel fortunate to have such a group to study with.

I agree with both of you. I was wondering if it has come to that. I do like the discussion, but I was wondrering what you all thought.

Some themes, I feel, are not acceptable to be brought up and re-hashed by discussion leaders or veterns. It's just poor taste and doesn't help anyone.
