I received an email from Mr Haine's the teacher chase/yo kuso/haiyomi claims to have discussed ninja philosophu with, he was unable to access chase's posts. so could an admin reinstate them, but keep them locked so that these people can make the right assessment regarding chase's fantasy world.

Yes,

I have received a similar request from Mr Haines. However, I prefer to keep the threads in the trash bin for the time being until George Kohler or John Lindsey have had chance to review them.

Actually, none of the threads relating to Haiyomi really belong in this Japan forum and I expect that they will be moved in due course.

Best regards,

In Chase's defense, a rich fantasy life doesn't make him dangerous either! Maybe he is just young and gifted. Cut the kid some slack?

yea but admitting to carrying weapons to school even if he was joking needs to be looked into

As a high school administrator..... who followed the threads
while the threads were truly bizarre, there is nothing that I cold procedurally or legally do with them. The weapons angle could be looked into but unless the child is dumb enough to have them on him when I ask, he will probably just say it was all made up.

That being said if any of the threads were posted to using school equipment...that would be punushable.

just my professional 2 cents....

Taking off that hat....the child is a wack job......not just creative or bored but truly strange.

I think that we should start up an e-budo chapter of the SPCAAA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Adolescents Addicted to Anime). I'm a smart-!!! but I'm willing to repent. The rest of you are meanies.

Has there been anyone else on E-Budo who made an impression like he did? :D

Yes,

I agree, the threads should be left in the trash. Chase requested this weekend that both accounts, Yokosho and Haiyomi, be deleted. This was done this weekend, before I received an e-mail from his teacher.

well if he wasn't scared off he'll be back in a few days as kazumi or haimi as he did on a different board, his 2 year old and 3 year old daughter

I suspect he has been scared off, especially if his teachers have become involved.

While it was all good fun, I almost feel sorry for him - I think he arrived here believing he had found somewhere to live out his teenage fantasies, and wasn't quite prepared for the e-budo massive (that's you, Scott :p ). It's pretty clear that he has no interest or involvement in MA beyond his online anime persona.

If he does re-appear, I think he should be banned before it all starts up again. it would be for his own good.

Only think is we are acting like he's a teenager. he's not, he's the same age as me and I don't go around acting like a nibblet.

He's got to learn actions have got consequences.

Chuck them in Baffling Budo (which it is) and leave them there. We've done far worse. If he doesn't want to answer he doesn't have to.

We are just letting him get away with taking the mick out of the MA if we delete the thread, then to carry on the 'fantasy' which can lead to someone (most likely himself) getting hurt.

We've got far worse threads in Baffling/ Bad Budo, Lock the thread if you want but at least leave it accessable.

Hello Matt,

I am not sure I agree with you here. I was the person who removed the posts from the News of Japan forum and I think I should explain why I did this.

I have always understood that if a member of the E-budo forum asks to have his/her account and posts deleted, the administrator has to comply. The person involved in this case was accepted as a bona-fide member of E-Budo and so I think his request to have his account and posts deleted has to be accepted. As moderator, I do not have the power to delete accoounts, so I put the threads in a restricted part of the forum. The main reason for this was to stop an increasingly fruitless exchange.

The actual content of his/her posts is another issue and so there might be grounds for delaying the deletion of his posts until others concerned have had a chance to look at them. So, at present they remain in a restricted section of the forum, so that the administrator, i.e. John Lindsey, can decide whether the posts should be revealed to the member's teachers et al. I myself would think there are US legal issues here, also, but I am not qualified to deal with these.

Thus, at present I think there is no reason for putting the posts in a part of the forum accessible to the general membership, simply because of judgments that have been made by other members of the forums involved. I am aware that some members feel that there are issues relating to the person involved, but if there are, I think these need to be dealt with outside the E-Budo forum.

Best wishes,

hey Pete, thanks for the reply :)

If you put it like that I can understand why you've done what you did. I thought you just got rid of it straight off.

John's word is always final and I've always respected that for the last 4 years I've been here :)

I just hope that Haiyomi, or whoever they were, has learnt a lesson that making claims can get you in deeper than what you first intended ;)

Cheers mate *beer*

No, don't remember him. What thread was it on?

As for Chase, I agree there may be legal issues, so...

Hi

Eddie was a e-budo hero he appeared constantly on ebudo for a while win all sorts of Guises in the Ninjutsu section.

he was about 15, this past thread discussed here reminds me a little of him

Eddie was great, but the all-time king of trolls has to be the ACAMAC dude. Nothing has ever come close to that level of lunacy. :)
