I know this has been asked before...and gotten few responses, but anyone know where you can buy Onigote? And about how much do they cost? Any help will be GREATLY appreciated.

-I also posted this in the clothing supplies section-

Onigote? I know it as Onikote but maybe my kanji reading is wrong 鬼甲手 . Try here http://www6.big.or.jp/~budogu/bokuto.html

I hope this helps

It's that old g/k substition thing again. Keiko means practice, ji-geiko is free practice. Just a pronunciation thing.

Can that price be right? Even with one zero less, it is expensive.

Very amusing description of the kote further down on the page:

"The surface does not have skin || sweat is easy to goddamn dry, and maintenance is easy."

Haha :)

Looks liked smoked buck skin, hence the price. Anything that is special order in Japan promotes sucking air through the teeth and another zero being added on.

I'm pretty sure that they can be obtained cheaper in Tokyo.

There's a store in Suidobashi that sell them for like half of what that website was selling them for, the last time I was there.

I think sekishindo's oni-kote is the lowest price in Japan.
Price is 85,000yen.

But you have to contact directly because it is not catalogue item.
