View Full Version : [OT] Slow XBOX 360 sales in Japan create opportunity for e-budo folk there.

For e-budo folks living in Japan, you may have a potential goldmine on your hands. Word is XBOX 360 sales are off in Japan. By my reports, only 1/4 of the inventory has moved so far. And, Microsoft has apparently slashed the prices to move these units.

In the states, people are camping out to get them as Microsoft dribbles them to retailers. As a result, they are selling for grossly inflated prices on eBay.

So if anyone feels like a trip to Akihabara, I am sure you could get some keen buyers here. I would be considered a demi-god by several of my nephews (and their parents) if I could score a few. If you are interested in making an Akihabara run for me, send me a PM and we'll work out the details.

Thanks,

I'd check on the region coding first, though, otherwise you're likely to end up the most hated demi-god in town. Nothing would cause more problems than a brand new XBox that can't play any of the games you've bought.

Point taken. Can anyone confirm if the Japan-released XBOX 360s will function without issue in the US. Can the menus be switched to English? Will US released games play without a problem?

Thanks for the reality check Dave! :D

Doug

PS: In case anyone thought I was asking folks to do this for free, I am willing to pay for your time. Even with shipping and your fees, I probably still come out ahead (assuming they'll function in the US).
