I am looking for a bell that was once in Bugei Traiding Companies catolog, I do not see it on their site. I have attached a photo of a bell that is VERY similar maybe even the sameone. Does anyone know where I might find this bell to purchase?

Thanks for any help.

In a traditional dojo they use it to signal the beers are now cold, sake is hot, and class is over. ;D

Actually, it's used for meditation sessions by most people. Bernie Lau used a Japanese rin type bell and told us to use the tone as an aid to meditation. Mainly, he thought it was cool is all.

The first two links have what you want.

These next links are the type that sit on a pillow and are used in temples. More traditionally Japanese.

Now's the time to look too. Spring is when gardening shows take place. Usually there is someone there selling these things, made from used oxygen tanks. Prices go from about $70 to several hundred depending on the size, quality of tone, and how whether they consider it as a work of art or just another decorative thing for your garden.

Or, go to a scrap yard and get a tank for $30 or so and do it yourself with a torch. Make a bell from each end of the tank.
