Last time I looked at this board someone was asking which style uses a center-grip on the short stick (hanbo, tanbo, tanjo, shojo, etc.). This style http://www.kazearashiryu.org/ apparently prefers a center grip on the short stick (which they call a shojo). I have also heard of this grip used/preferred in Thai and Korean stickfighting styles.
