I'm Ahura. I'm here to test the fabric of the society I find before me. I have come with experience, and with questions.

I am a private practioner. I have trained with people that you would call "real" and people you would call "fake" and I've learned something from all of them.

I will make no claims as to my training, as my training is not going to become a topic of discussion. If you wish to learn to use a knife, it does not matter if a ninjutsuka or a karateka teach you. If your a ninjutsuka, you will assimilate the knife in the context of the proper spirit by using it and figuring it out.

Of course, one cannot grow in isolation of others. There are people who have been assimilating these things in that spirit for quite a long time, and could possibly teach a lot. That is why I am here, to learn.

I get edgy sometimes, and I make off the cuff remarks. Ninja are supposed to see the humor in everything, so I expect that my remarks will not be met with immature reactions. I say this, because I have positions that I know will cause friction here, because they will step on people's toes.

I'm never really sure who's toes I'm stepping on, but, if you keep your toes out of the public path, they won't get stepped on. So its your choice not to post your ideas, and not have them questioned.

I'm not here to start problems, but, I often touch sensitive spots. I'm not sugar coated. I'm here to grow and learn, and I try to be utterly ruthless in my perception of myself. Sometimes, this comes out to those who are not ruthless with their introspections. I say this, because I don't want any problems or hurt feelings.

Thank you.

Who's that trip-trapping over my bridge? Are you really here to test the fabric of society? Why? And who the hell sent you?

Yes, of course you are...which Role Playing Game are you called that in?
I am a private practioner. I have trained with people that you would call "real" and people you would call "fake" and I've learned something from all of them.
Especially the fake ones?
I will make no claims as to my training, as my training is not going to become a topic of discussion. If you wish to learn to use a knife, it does not matter if a ninjutsuka or a karateka teach you. If your a ninjutsuka, you will assimilate the knife in the context of the proper spirit by using it and figuring it out.
Your training is most definitely going to become a matter of discussion. Seeing as how you use the term ninjutsuka especially so.

Ninja are supposed to see the humor in everything, so I expect that my remarks will not be met with immature reactions.
I can't guarantee it. Besides if you are a ninja you will surely find it funny acCording to what you said above
I'm never really sure who's toes I'm stepping on,
Look down more then.

I often touch sensitive spots.
You'll grow out of that....or you'll go blind, one or the other

I have to say ten words, ten words are all I have to say and then I can press my magic button.....

Ahura,

Just a friendly reminder of the E-Budo rules which you agreed to when you joined.
Each post requires your real name (either full name or first initial and surname) attached. This is most easily achieved by using the signature function found under the User CP tab.
You only get three warnings before you find yourself banned.

Thank you for your future cooperation.

Sorry Mr. ninja sir, gotta dissappoint you on that one with some immature reactions!
I'm Ahura. I'm here to test the fabric of the society I find before me.
Keep your invisible ninja hands off of my fabric fella! I really don't want you fingering the fabric of MY society. I am very picky about who gets to finger my fabric!
I have come with experience, and with questions
Sounds more like you come with experience of on-line role playing games. I'll bet your questions are about what real life is like! :)
I'm never really sure who's toes I'm stepping on, but, if you keep your toes out of the public path, they won't get stepped on.
So much for that famous ninja stealth eh? If you are clumsy enough to stumble over my toes, you aren't a very good ninja!
I'm not here to start problems, but, I often touch sensitive spots.
Dammit! I warned you already about fingering my fabric! Don't go trying to touch any of my sensitive spots either!

OK, that's about all the immaturity I could come up with off the cuff. Thanks for the laugh Lt. Uhura. Please come back and post some more incredibly pretentious drivel. It was fun! :D

Yes, I am. There is much promise in many, so I seek to test it, to see where the ideolgogies fail, and where the gulf between theory and practice is. By testing the fabric of society, I test myself. It works both ways.

I guess the universe sent me. Thats where we all came out of, right?

No person sent me. I bow only to the sun, and I bow differently than others bow, so when I bow in polite Japanese style, it is not exactly a bow, more like a nod of the head.

You can relax, I'm not from the evil Kouga clan. :P

You assume I ignored the rules. I was not aware of them, that does not mean that I ignored them. Maybe the rules ignored me?

I took care of it. Thank you for being friendly and civil.

I used the SIG block. You gave me my second warning too, thanx dude!

Thank you for your future understanding. What a wonderful bunch of people you are!

Ah, here we go Paul Smith. Doomed to normality because of his birth name, wants to come and talk smack???

Your almost funny Paul, like your name is almost original, and almost nobody else has it, and I don't hear it almost 90 times a day when I meet new people.

If you want to make fun of me, you should learn to construct jokes. A person who would make such low humor would pick a pocket.

I never called myself a ninja, but, your telling me that a good one won't step on someone's toes (disagree with them). Yeh, you might be right, but, I have no goal here, so I don't care who's toes I step on.

It was almost fun talking to you too, Paul. Funny how I just introduce myself, say a couple things that I think, and your all defensive and making horrible jokes. Did you wipe the little brown stains off your noshitagi yet?

hahahahahhahaahahahhahahahahahahahahaha

See, I can be obnoxious too. I hope that button is the button that means you don't embarass yourself anymore. Why don't you go write an Ashida Kim thread? I think your unique type of energy is very good at pointing out how everyone else sucks, but, not very good about making anything better.

:D

Wow!

Another kook with to much time and too little to do is now getting his "jollies" by posting reams of psudo-zen nonsense on a thread.

(Ever notice that such things "peak" just about the time schools start letting out for the summer?)

How utterly novel and "new." ;)

No-one has ever done THAT before ;)

Sheesh........

If people are going to be annoying, would it be too much to ask that they at least TRY and come up with SOMETHING original?????

Banality really isn't much of a goal.

C'mon Chris, where's the fun in that? :D
Your almost funny Paul, like your name is almost original, and almost nobody else has it, and I don't hear it almost 90 times a day when I meet new people.
Lt. Uhura,
Surely you can do better than that! Don't they teach you ninjas anything about originality? Sheesh, I'm seriously disappointed!
I never called myself a ninja, ...
Oh, my mistake then. I guess your brain waves were simply too astral for me to be able to figure out just what the heck you were trying to say! Perhaps if you tried speaking more like a regular person instead of a bad anime, you wouldn't be making such an astral out of yourself. :)
Funny how I just introduce myself, say a couple things that I think, and your all defensive and making horrible jokes.
While horrible jokes are rather a specialty of mine, there is no defensiveness in it. I simply enjoy making fun of overly pretentious fools. Lots of good entertainment value there!
See, I can be obnoxious too.
You're going to have to do a lot better than that to be obnoxious! Right now you're at simply confused and pitiable. Keep trying though, I have no doubt you'll get there before you graduate! :)
I think your unique type of energy is very good at pointing out how everyone else sucks, but, not very good about making anything better.
But you're wrong again! I don't think everyone else sucks, just those people that try and impress others by talking as if they lived in a bad episode of "Kung Fu". Perhaps you're really channeling the spirit of the young David Carradine? That would explain a lot!

The trolls sometimes help keep the claws sharpened I suppose, but this may be the proverbial battle of wits with the unarmed person.

I just felt the need to generate a public service message, I suppose, in the interest of the site's bandwidth.

Actually, I may be wrong. Perhaps we should cultivate this one. It's rare to see them giving being philosophical a real try. Plumbing these depths with the psychic roto-rooter might be fun, depending upon what we can glean, and how long we can keep him on.

I'm sensing a Nietzschian or Existentialist moment coming on just to confuse him even more....

Perhaps we need to ask our new friend some more questions in order to really begin to grasp his unique perspectives. I want to understand. Really, I do. Please enlighten me, Oh please, oh please, oh please!!!!

I'd stick around and start the questions, but I have to actually go be productive. I'll leave you, my fine colleagues, to begin the cultivation process.

All the best!

There ya go! That's the spirit. I'm sure the Lt. will respond once he gets out of school.

and I bow differently than others bow, so when I bow in polite Japanese style, it is not exactly a bow, more like a nod of the head.

So how can it be a bow in polite Japanese style if it's not a bow like any other person does? Or am I just slow to catch on?

It would appear from the context that perhaps our new friend considers himself somewhat above the rest of us who bow normally and within the context of the situation.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but my understanding is that the "lower" your status in comparison to the person to whom you bow, the more deeply you bow. For example, as a junior student in our ryu-gi, my bows to our Sensei and headmaster are quite deep and held for sufficient time to ensure he has risen before I rise. I have been taught that this is done as a sign of respect both for the man and the position.

On those grounds I surmise our new friend considers himself to be quite high on the food chain, so to speak, if all anyone else warrants is a slight nod of the head. That's an awful lot of ego for someone claiming to be a serious budoka.

I guess it comes with the official Ashida Kim mail order ninjer kit, along with the official ninjer badge, fill-in-the-blank ninjer ID card, and genyoowine simulated leather wallet carrier. It makes a great complimentary set to match the mail order doctor of divinity degree and ordination from that internet church that sells them for 20.00. Instant "credibility" delivered right to your swampest place, and best of all, no sweat, no blood, no effort.

If a troll falls in the forest, does it make a sound, and does anyone care?

What is the sound of one troll clapping?

If a troll falls in a forest and I didn't get to see it be cut down, is it less fun?

So which post was the final straw?

I was wondering that as well.

I looked in his profile and read all of his posts and the surrounding context, but there were only a couple of warnings for not signing posts. I didn't see any moderator posts saying "That's it! Out of the pool!," or anything of the type. (Unless I missed that part, which is possible. He posted an awful lot for just having a half-day's membership.)

I suspect it probably had something to do with the "use your real name" clause in the rules, though. Somehow, I just don't think anyone was buying the whole "I'm a Persian sun god," thing or whatever the name was supposed to mean.

I hope he comes back sometime. This was promising.

Somehow the space under the bridge feels so empty. *Sniffs*

Oh, well. We should have new applicant to fill the billet pretty soon now, if history is any sort of guide.

Maybe one of the responsible parties will swing by and tell us why they banished our troll to the nether regions.

that broke the moderator's patience. Mr. Kohler's post on this page looks to be the troll removal device.
