Okay, I definitely know what a jo is. A middle length staff, about 3.5 or 4 foot long (depending on the school) etc. For example, in the Booj we use a jô which fits exactly under the armpit, so we've got no fixed length...
So that's not the question.
My questions are: how is the correct rômanji - hebonji for 'jo'. Is it 'jo' all right or should it be 'jô' (or 'jou')?
What does it mean?
What is the kanji for this?
Thanks a lot for any info!

The kanji means "stick" (or "staff", but not the same as a bou), and can be read as "jou" (Sino-Japanese) or "tsue" (Japanese).

I thought that this would be a nice place to visit, so here I am.
The Kanji for Jo is $B>s(B
The On Yomi is "Jo" and the Kun Yomi is "Tsue".
I hope your computer can read the Kanji and not decipher it into ASCII!
Regards,
Steve Delaney.
