Mengajo time!!!

Dear all,

Anybody here got any advice for "new" cool sayings for mengajo?

I've got about 12 to write and I'm tired of writing the same things.

Hi Jody,

First off, it's "nengajo" as in 2 sen nen (year 2000).

Second, you know how formulaic this sort of ritual is in Japan. What I do (and I've still got a half dozen to write :-( is to put the standard "Akemashite Omedeto Gozaimasu" on one side of the card, and then write my personal message on the other side. It seems to work.

Third, when are you coming down so we can play. I've got to do that seminar in January, and I need to practice with you.
Besides, Masami is planning on feeding you a tonkatsu dinner.
