Dear all,

Real world question for real training.

If you had 30 days, and you could fly anywhere and sweet talk yourself into any program, where would it be and with whom?

Can I time travel too?

What an excellent question; I wish I would've thought to ask it. If only one person (more than likely for one art only)....man I have to think about this some more....

Andrew,

No time travel, real world...

As in 30 days training in Krav Magda in Isreal.

Muay Thai in Bangkok.

but more specific.

Specific schools with specific people.

Medhi

Katsuhiko Kashiwazaki

Isano Okano

Joe Moreira

I have practiced with most of the other folks I would like to.

Since Aaron T paved the way for more than one answer, I'll follow suit...

Muay Thai-Master Toddy
Entertainment/Grappling Training-Gene Lebell
Cardio/Brazilian JJ-Rickson Gracie
Celebrity Training-Anderson Silva
Chinese Arts-Peter Ralston
US Master of JJJ-Don Angier
Sword/Kenjutsu-Murakami Yasumasa
Judo-Toshihiko Koga

Assuming that I could get into any of these dojo, the hardest one to get into would probably be Murakami Yasumasa; so put a gun to my head (hammer pulled-has to be loaded), I would choose Yasumasa.

Okay, I'll do the same, and I'll rank them by personal preference.

If I could magically get fluent in Japanese first, I'd go to Japan for intensive training in Seiki Ryu (Aiki-related sword and staff) under my former teacher's teacher, Kurita Minoru. The few days of training I've already had with him when he visited the US were amazing.

Barring that, Shinkendo with Obata Sensei.

Next, Shindo Muso Ryu with Relnick Sensei.

(Yeah, I'm a sword and staff guy.)

Hi Jody,

I'd go to Kansai, of course. 30 days with Kiyama Sensei doing Shinto Hatakage Ryu is the first choice. Second would be 30 days with Matsuda Sensei doing Shinto Muso Ryu.

The still secret psychic warfare programs currently operated by US military agencies. The stuff that STARGATE etc evolved into after it was made public and outsourced.

Nah-little known factoid-those programs only took certain ethnicities, or mixtures thereof.....yer probably out.

You should probably be thankful for that, anyway......

30 days? Manzo Shitama, I guess.....

A smart person would break that 30 days up into four 1-week periods and then spread those out to every 3-4 months. Go for one week to get started, then spend the next 3-4 months working solo to change yourself. Then go back to get readjusted and start learning new stuff (provided you put the time into solo work). Repeat. Overall, it's really 30 days of training spread out over 9 months to a year. You would get a lot more training out of doing that than going for 30 days straight. IMO, anyway.

Hahaha.

That'd be great!

I'm not sure if this is just a theoretical question about "what you would do if..." or if you're planning to go away for a month and train somewhere. If it's the later, a lot of people won't except a student who will study only for a month.
