Hello all, just a short question about where to leave swords and luggage in Japan, while doing some sightseeing by foot, any idea.

We are flying to Osaka in May and later go for iaido training to Yokohama, but before that we will do one week hiking in Tokushima area. We don't want to drag all our packages while walking in the hills so I think to take a very cheap hotel room and leave packages there (any recommendations) or do you know if it will be cheaper to leave stuff to railwaystation storeroom (I don't know if they have that one)? Any help wellcome.

Yours

Where are you wanting to store your equipment? There are lockers at Kansai you could use but it would be a pain to have to go back there before you head up to Yokohama for training. I'm assuming you aren't going to rent a car or you would probably just store the items in there.

The best solution may to just have one of the luggage shippers on the first floor of Kansai ship the items you don't want to carry to the hotel you plan on staying in up in Yokohama or to the school you plan on training at.

I always use them after landing at Kansai so I don't have to carry a bunch of luggage around. They are super reliable, cheap and you can tell them exactly when you want a package delivered. I would typically send two very large suticases with them to where I was living at the time which would have been Okayama or Hiroshima. I don't recall it ever costing more than 10,000yen.

If you decide you want to look into using one when you get to the first floor just make a left and head all the way down and it's just past the information booth.

I've been to Tokushima many times and it's very nice. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
