The Aikido Sangenkai (http://www.aikidosangenkai.org) is happy to be hosting Howard Popkin and Joseph Brogna in their first Hawaii workshop.

This special workshop will explore the techniques and principles of Daito Ryu, the system of Aikijujutsu taught to Aikido Founder Morihei Ueshiba by Sokaku Takeda. This workshop will consist of principle based, body centered instruction and will be of immense value in understanding how to do Aikido or other martial arts with "Aiki". This workshop is open to the public regardless of style or affiliation. Participants of all backgrounds and martial arts are welcome.

Howard Popkin is an instructor of Daitoryu Aikijujutsu and was the New York representative for the Daito ryu Aikijujutsu Roppokai before resigning to form the Daitoryu Ginjukai. He was also a long time student of the Daito ryu Aikijujutsu Kodokai, and practices and teaches Goshin-budo Jujitsu.

Joseph Brogna is an instructor of Daitoryu Aikijujutsu and Goshin-budo Jujitsu, and teaches at the Popkins-Brogna Self Defense Center in New York with Howard. He is also a student of the following Japanese Jujitsu systems of the Kokusai Jujitsu Renmei: Asayama Ichiden-Ryu, Hontai Takagi Yoshin Ryu and Kukishinden Ryu Hanbo-jitsu.
