AMERICAN police dogs are being equipped with a new weapon in the fight against crime: titanium false teeth designed to improve their bite - and their grip - on anyone trying to escape the law.

Sheesh. I suppose it's practical, but what would've been wrong with enamel?

I have worked with and around K-9's for quite some time and I don't see why anyone would go out of their way to put titanium false teeth on one of these dogs especially when the real ones work just fine.

I've been bitten by them too and can attest to the mechanism's of a dog's bite. They work, the teeth I mean.

What's an "American" police dog? Is this like the American Bull Terrier, IE, Pit Bulls, or an American-trained dog of any kind?

The metal teeth are replacements for broken teeth, not substitutes for the originals.

Cheaper than a new dog.

makes sense...those K9's get pretty expensive
