Video: Kobudo?

Howdy all,

About 10 years ago, NHK produced a documentary called Kobudo. It featured (among other things) Yagyu Shinkage Ryu, Owari Kan Ryu, Take (no) Uchi Ryu, Kondo sensei of the Daito Ryu and a lengthy interview with Otake Risuke sensei of the TSKSR.

The only copies of this are 3rd and 4th generation... does anyone know where to find a more reasonable version? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hello Jigme,

I don't know if this is the same one that I've seen, but it wasn't done 10 years ago. Maybe 3 years at the most. It had Katori Shinto Ryu, Takenouchi Ryu, Daito Ryu, Kobori Ryu, Taisha Ryu, Owari Kan Ryu, and Jigen Ryu.

Is this the one?

I think you are both correct. There have been several tapes/tv programs--usually based on the annual demonstration at the Nippon Budokan--over the years. I think I saw one from 1978 too. Some of them might be available through Tozando (there's a link to them at the Koryu.com suppliers page, though I think the URL is http://www.tozando.com).
