This coming weekend is the US sword federation tournament in Seattle. I was wondering who might be planning to attend. Unfortunately I wont be able to make it this year due to family issues but would very much like to hear from someone who goes.

Sword Tournament? WOW! Sounds neat.

What goes on at one of those competition-wise?

I will be leaving tommorow for Seattle. This will be my first time attending this tournament.

It should be interesting!

I'd be curious to know who/what group is hosting the competition - anybody know?

Hi guys,

This is Russell McCartney's event, details are on the Ishiyama ryu website.

There is also a demo showcasing "The World of Martial arts" that evening. I was thinking of trying to go to that if I can break free from other plans, but it's not looking likely I'll be there.

Thanks for the link, Neil.

Contrary to usual belief, Boston is not yet recognized as a state (or Commonwealth) unto itself, though that day may come. It just reads weird in that line about where the competitors are from.

Good practice, everyone!

just nitpicking to be a pain in the a$$...

You are absolutely correct, WillG. Boston is a city, like Seattle, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Texas, Portland, Reno, etc.

(Ouch, that gotta hurt!!) :)
