Staying in the tattoo vein, I am getting a scene from the 47 Ronin Story on my back. My question is this...What kind of robe would the Kaishaku wear at the Seppuku ceremony of Oishi Kuranosuke? I have read Jack Seward's book "Hara Kiri" and it says that what the Kaishaku would wear depended on what the rank is of the man performing seppuku. I figure that a Cheif Retainer of a Daimyo is considered a high rank. Would anyone know what color (my guess is white) would the robe or kamishimo would be? Would it be a solid color or could it be patterned. I'd like to have this tattoo sticking with the tradition as much as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
