Nine old densho from 1600-1786

I have 9 old densho that I am hoping someone can help translate. I was told that these are dated 1600 through 1786.

The first one states (of course) that it´s a Menkyo-schroll you have. Nice! Is is sanskrit at the beginning of the first one?

The second schroll (first link) covers Marishiten. The next one must be on Yawara.

I will post better scans. I was told the first is dated the beginning of the Edo Period (1600).

Wow. What koryu are these from?

Scrolls 6 and 7 seem to be mokuroku that give the name... 必勝無二流 (Hissho Muni-ryu)?

r2: Yes - the first ones are also signed with the same name so probably all are coming (except the last two) from the same school...

From the description of the scrolls on another website (congrats--you must be the winner) it seems like they're all from the Meiwa, An'ei and Tenmei periods (1760s, 1770s, 1780s--from the photos I can make out, a bunch are dated Tenmei 6=1786).

[Just as an aside: One doesn't find densho from the early 17th century much, and most that are dated to the early 17th century are reproductions from the late Tokugawa period (and many are marked as such).}

Hi Robert, I would be interested in seeing higher res image of the last 2 scrolls...It might be useful comparing some of the symbols with some Taoist mystical diagrams that I have copies of. I wonder if they could be texts related to Mikkyo Buddhist teachings.

If you can find a copy, John Stevens published a book called "Sacred Calligraphy of the East" with a fair bit of sanskrit writing discussed, you might find some analogous examples to your scrolls in that.
