JKF in Japan
For those who may have not heard yet:
The JKF has cancelled many of its seminars and tournaments not only in Japan but world wide. Some practices, like the Dojo that I train at in Japan, cancelled its practices for the week. I am not sure how long this will go on.
Is anyone else experiencing the same things?
That's all for now.....

I know a number of people whose plans for training in Japan this summer are now on hold while everyone figures out what the virus is going to do. Hopefully it is seasonal like the flu, and will taper off quickly. If not, it could be an interesting year (in the old Chinese sense).

Hello Mr. Smith
Yes, it would be very interesting indeed! I know a few people New Zealand and Australia that will miss out on a chance to have a seminar for the Goju Kai because of the virus......they are bummed out about that. hopefully they will still hold the Olympics and the atheletes will still be able to train and compete.

Mr. Smith
so much for this years Olympics....also they have cancelled tournaments in Oita Prefecture , where I live, for may and June......The Zenkokutaikai (all Japan tournament) may be next....

Unfortunately, the word is that the pandemic will not fade until July or August, and then could return in the fall, joining the ranks of the flu and colds as a regular annual cycle of seasonal ailments. :/ It looks like if tournaments, embu, sporting events and other activities are going to resume, there will have to be a new approach to how they are run, participated in, and attended. A "new normal"?

It will certainly make people much more conscious of those around them. Good situational awareness training!

Hopefully this will not be something to come around each year as a regular flu or cold! This one is ravaging countries.....lets hope that it doesn't return yearly
