as i mentioned in the parallel thread to this one, the kendo federations handle seiteigata, dan-grade testing, and, at least in japan, kata tournaments. the jo koryu arts take care of themselves, even if they also train in seiteigata. Sakimukai-sensei's group looks like it claims to be a koryu organization.

it's the one most commonly practised these days, but there are both other jo arts (e.g. Muhimuteki-ryu) and multi-disciplinary arts that contain a jo curriculum (e.g. Suiou-ryu Joho).
