    Question JSA in New England?

    Hello all,
Being new and only having searched a little through the threads, I must apologize if this has been covered before.
Can anyone give me info on any JSA's taught in the Northeast? I have found one ZNKR seitei source, and have been practicing the 12 kata for over a year now. Are there any other sources around the New England area?
    Thanks a ton,
    Steve Botelho

What part of Mass are you in? Warren Stanley-sensei, a Rokudan(6th degree) in Muso Jikiden Eishin Ryu Iaido, is in Boston, Mass. He runs the New England Iaido Kyokai and is a student of Honami Koji-sensei of Kamakura,Japan. Stanley-sensei is affiliated with the Zen Nippon Iaido Renmei. Excellent and very powerful Iai swordsmen.

I don't believe he has an online presence of any kind so you will need to look him up in the phonebook or call information.

    Hope this helps.

    Exclamation Thanks!

Wow, thank you for posting so fast. Does anyone know any specifics on where this group trains? I tried a search through that damned bigyellow.com and got nowhere. Hints?

    Steve,

I mentioned this to Ray-sensei in class tonight. He should be getting in touch with you to help hook you up with Stanley-sensei.

Hello Mr. Botello, also hello to Raymond and Barry, if you contact him.
I just met Stanley-sensei a couple of weeks ago at our annual Embukai. I am delighted to have found another hidden diamond in budo in this country. His iaido is first rate and he is a great guy. I can't recommend him enough.
Please contact me privately at djr0001@unt.edu
for a means of contacting him.
    Sincerely,

That site is exclusively a Kendo site yes? They will list Iai dojos but only if they teach Kendo also? Just curious.

    Default auskf site

Most of the dojos on the auskf site are kendo but there is some iaido there. However if you're looking for iaido, it can't hurt to contact the local kendo dojo. If they're not teaching it themselves, they'll certainly know if anybody is.

Maybe there's some auskf person who can clarify - their website makes it seem like kendo is there only concern. I know the CKF actively promotes kendo, iaido and jodo and lists all the dojos on their site (www.kendo-canada.com if anyone's interested).

I know most Kendo dojos do Iai as well, but I was wondering if any Iai only dojos can be found on that list. For example, dojos that do not do kendo and are not associated with any group that does kendo. ZNIR dojos for instance.

[EDIT] I wonder if this is dragging the thread off topic...

I doubt any ZNIR dojos would be on the AUSKF list, as the AUSKF is an IKF organisation.
