Did anyone see the article in the NY Times recently on Okinawan diet? It seems that Okinawans' famed longevity is due mainly to diet and not genetics. Sadly, the younger generation has submitted to Big Mac culture and consequently they will probably die along with us fat Americans. However, in the article they interviewed a 90+ year old Okinawan man who briefly explained his diet and exercise regimen. They had a photo of him with his arms spread wide in a solid little stance. I'm wondering if this is possibly Kushanku or some traditional Okinawan exercise or if he just stretching out like they told him to at the old folks' home? Any thoughts?
